What I know of Edward Brasier and his descendants is primarily based on John Bennett Boddie's Southside Virginia Families, (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co, 1966), Vol 2, p.117-19. Some information has been added from the Calendear of Historical Manuscripts in the Office of the Secretary of State of New York, O'Callaghan, 1865; The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, and the Genealogical Distionary of the First Settlers of New England, comp by James Savage, reprint 1986.

#1. Edward Brasier was born c1603 (age 80 in 1683, per court files) and died 3 May 1689. He was living in Cambridge in 1647 (New Eng Hist Gen Reg, v.7, p.175). He paid his taxes in Charlestown in 1653; bought 1.5 acres of land and a house from R. Temple, one part bought of R. Kettell, other of W. Bridges; owned 4 acres on northwest line of Cambridge; in 1654, he bought a hay lot of Mr. Hurst, bounded on the west by Palgrave, on the east by Davison.
Edward Brazier was living in Charlestown, 1658, where his children were born after he was 57 years old: 1660--1667. Edward d. 3 May 1689. (ref: Genealogical Dictionary of the first Settlers of New England, Vol. I, comp. by James Savage, rpt 1986)
[same ref: Austen Bratcher, of Charlestown, died in 1630 at the hand of Walter Palmer. A jury was charged to inquire of it, and Palmer was discharged. This might be a source of other families?]
Edward Brasier made his will 11 May 1683. It entered probate 1 Oct 1689. Devised to wife half of house, etc; to son, the other half, to have the whole after wife's death; to son, 3 acre lot in Cambridge. Wife and son exrs. The inventory included: house and orchard, one acre; 2 acre hay lot; 3.5 acres by Cambridge line (3 acres "by the line," and half in Cambridge); two lots on Mystic side.
Edward Brasier m. Magdelen _______, who was admitted to the church in 1656. But, later, "Maudeline Brasier, Irish woman, lately of New London; at Mungo Crawford's, Dec. 28, 1681; not accepted as inhabitant of Boston (per selectmen's records)." SVF p.117.
