Hi Kitty. I don't know if we have a connection or not. I suspect we might in the future.
I've decided to respond in two ways. One on the forum which might interest other readers, and second I'll email you more detailed info on the first two or three generations that I know about.
My grandfather was Robert Dart Brasie, born April 1, 1880, Brasie Corners, township of Macomb, New York, married Minnie Jane Matthews. In the early 1900's he moved his family from Brasie Corners in St. Lawrence County to Gouverneur, New York (about 6 miles to the southeast of Brasie Corners). His family always spelled it "Brasie".
His father was William Christopher Brasie born 1849 place probably Brasie Corners. He married Celinda Ann Dart. Two children I know of are Robert (1880) and William Henry Harem Brasie, born 1882, both probably born at Brasie Corners.
William Christopher's father was William Brasie Jr. born 1813 married Emily Draper. They had eight children that I know of, one of which was John Draper Brasie born 1841. Don't know anything more about him yet.
Another of William Brasie Jr's children was John W Brasie, born 1855, probably Brasie Corners.
William, William, and William had their names spelled as "Brasie", "Brazie", and "Brazee" depending on who wrote it down. Brazie is most common in Cemetery listings. I know two William Brasies voted in Macomb Township between 1841 and 1860 or so, which is where I saw "Brazee". Before that, it might have been "Bressey" of something similar.
I'll email you some details on the first three generations. If we have a connection, maybe you can fill in some of my blanks.
Bruce
