I saw your reply on this forum and thought I would write. I am descended from Britton's son William J. Brassell, Barsheba's brother. Some of his family moved to Scott County, MS (as did a bunch of Alfords) and that is where I come in.

Though I doubt that I could add anything to your Alford line, I will pass on that no one has found any actual documentation for Britton's Rev. War service. In addition, the theory of his birthplace as being in Acadia is for the most part discounted.

I would refer you to the Alford Family Association, if you have not already contacted them. I was in contact with someone from there years ago and they passed on something on the Alfords. As this is not my line, per se, I really never got into it. I think they have a website, try AAFA.com or something like that. Alford American Family Association I think.
