Did you get the info that you have from the book that is now available online? How is it that you come by the information of Richard as a father to Valentine and that Valentine had a brother named James?
Known children of Valentine Braswell:
Lucresey born 1795 SC
David born 1799 SC
Wesley born 1801 SC
William born 1803 SC
Derrell born 1807 SC
Isaac born 1809 SC
Susan born 1812 SC
Ephraim L born 1816 SC
Matilda born 1814 SC
Jonathan born 1820 GA
What isn't known are who Valentine Braswell's parents. According to debates in the past some people put this Valentine as son to Richard, however the Valentine who is a son to Richard was born 1765, BUT MY Valentine from SC who is the father of these children was born 1774 or 1775 based upon census record ages for him. So the old argument of this particular Valentine being a son to Richard is invalid. However if you have some other information about where you received your Richard is Valentine's father that would be great to know. Could be that a birthdate needs to be changed from 1765, just depends. I'm not sure that I've ever seen anyone who claims that Valentine had a brother named James, BUT THAT INFO would be GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!! Some of Valentine's grandchildren are named James, so please tell me about where this info comes from too please. You are so kind to answer my email, I really appreciate you taking the time and yes you are so right, every bit of information helps.
