My GGrandfather, James Brazil, was born in Clonmel April of 1849. His siblings included:
Michael, Bridget, Patrick, Thomas, John, Ellen, Garrett & Edmund.
John moved to New Zealand, Ellen married an O'Shea and moved to Chicago. Edmund lived in Chicago as well. Thomas farmed in Kansas. My connection, James, came to America in 1865, wandered around a bit and finally settled in Oklahoma Territory in 1892.
According to a letter recieved in 1903 Bridget Brazil (Hogan) still resided in Clonmel at that time and reported that Micheal and Patrick were still living and were very strong. Michael had only a boy & girl, the boy moved to America and the girl was married and living in the place. Patrick had one son at home who is married and daughter is in America.
Some of the letters I have indicated that the name is spelled Brazil/Brazzel/Brazel.
My own GGrandfather was illiterate so that may explain any spelling discrepancies.
Please contact me directly if you want to discuss further. I have Lots of information concerning James' descendants and some unverified information concerning ancestors.
Regards,
PHIL BRAZIL
