It sounds like it may very well be possible that your James Jefferson Brazzel could be a brother of Christie's great-grandfather, William B. Brazel, born 1863 or 1864.

I would love to hear what else you may learn at the reunion.

It might be worthwhile seeing if you can get a male Brazeal from your line to join the DNA Test Project, to see if you are genetically linked with the others in the group.

You can go to www.familytreedna.com and type Braswell in the search block, after clicking on what you find, it will take you to a website that has the information on the project that includes Braswell, Bracewell, Brazel, Brazeal, Brazil, Breazeale, Brassel, etc. (any spelling that rhymes with "dazzle").
