Hi Adam
I'm most interested in your message - I have quite a lot of information on the Canadian branch of the Brayford family and I have even been in touch with some of them!I also have a vast amount of info on the family in England from 1760 to 1901.
Most of the Canadian branch are descendants of three brothers who left England and settled in Saskatchewan around the 1880's.I have a lot of data on them.Interestingly, the father of these three brothers was called James, which seems to have been handed down in your own more reent family history!
You are possibly descended from them, but I do know of at least one other branch who emigrated to Canada later, so cannot be certain as yet.Not knowing which Province you are in does not help!
As you are only 18, can I ask if your grandfather, James Frank Brayford is still alive? Guessing he may be in his 60's it seems possible. If so, ask him where his father (or even grandfather) was from.If not, ask your Dad the same questions - especially any recollection of Saskachewan or more precisely Cannington Manor. This assumes your family have been in Canada for several generations, but if not, I still may be able to help if you can find out when they left from England.
Look forward to hearing from you further and if you wish to contact me direct I would be pleased to hear from you.
Regards
Phil Brayford
