Braxton as a given name (in VA)!

This is a long shot but thought it wouldn't hurt to post a message regarding the name Braxton as a given name instead of a surname. It's such an unusual name I thought someone else might log on here looking for "Braxton."

My GGG-Grandfather was Braxton MCMANNERS (Sometimes found spelled McMANNUS). Braxton died in Virginia approximately 1847. He was married to Nancy Chew in 1822 (I have her will from Charles City County, VA 1857). They had two known children:

Mary Ann McManners born 1833 and married to Robert P. Eppes of Charles City County, VA.

George Braxton McManners born 1835 married 1st to Rebecca Ladd and 2nd Annie Pearman Denny.
