Claude and Beulah were my great grand parents. My grandmother is Betty Brawner Bauckman and my grandfather is Samuel Wright Bauckman of Dumfries Virginia. My grandfather just passed on last year and grandma is still doing well. Great Aunt Elinor has also recently passed. Grandma has an extensive family history although I don't have it handy at this momenet. I am also not sure if it is the Adams side or the Brawner side or if it is both. Grandma is the only Brawner still in Dumfries. Mildred Brawner and her husband Chester Bourne are both buried in Dumfries Cemetery. As a matter of fact, Grandma and Mom (Claudia Bauckman Smith) are now caretakers of the town cemetery now that Grandpa has passed. Great Uncle Elgin is buried there as well. There is a Brawner area at the cemetery, but I am not sure of all the names in the plot. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa are in the same area. Please feel free to email me. I am trying to remember what side Richard and Annie Merchant fall into the family. We have recently done a paranormal investigation with Supernatural Investigators of Virginia (siofva.com) of the home were Richard and Annie lived that was once the bookstore for Mason Weems (the original author of the Washington Cherry tree story) and Benjamin Botts (a member of the defense team for Aaron Burr). The house is a block away from where Beulah and Claude lived and a half block away from grandma now lives.
