Michael Braun b: 16 SEP 1772 longswamps Berks married to Catherine Scherry/Scherrer seems to be pretty well documented.
I've been working from that end and there is not much on his father. What I have been able to find is Michael Braun son of Michael B Braun married to maria b. 1745 d. Washington Twp, Northumberland Co. Pa. siblings conrad b. 6 JAN 1766 and Susanna b. 19 AUG 1770.
The record that I have been able to find so far is :
moselem church berks Richmond Township Berks
Conrad Braun son of Michael B. and wife Maria, born January 6, 1766, baptized March 23, 1766.
Sponsors: Friedrich Braun and wife Margretha.
The sponsors are interesting in light of your post but there are so many Brauns with very similar naming patterns that it can certainly be coincidental.
I have noticed that there are more mentions of a Michael Braun in the records of blue mountain church, Rev. Stoevers, christ church on bieber creek (merz) in Berks and QUITOPAHILLA (QUITTAPAHILLA) in lebanon that I have not looked up yet.
I would be interested to hear what you come up with.
