Clarence W. (or M.) Brown was born in Erin, Chemung County, New York in 1870. He married Evelyn Houghton (often spelled differently in censues), his second marriage. He had a daughter, Hannah, from his first marriage, and a son, George, from his second. George Brown was born in 1911 in Elmira, Chemung County, New York. He married Dorothy Agnes Giansante, born 1923 in Knox County, Ohio.
So far, I have been unable to trace backwards beyond Clarence. Apparently, he and his older sister, Sarah (b. 1865) were raised by a couple named Owen G. and Hannah Thomas, for reasons as yet unknown. I just discovered that in the 1870 census, Clarence was listed as Clarence Braun, but I have not yet been able to view the record, so I don't know if his birth parents are listed as well. If this helps forge a connection, or if anyone can help out, I look forward to hearing from you.
