Thanks for your reply. These are the two girls I had picked for Belle and Betty also.
They marry in 1881 and 1882 in Clay Co, so it made sense to me that they were the right ones. Would love to find someone who can confirm that our assumptions are correct. Records, other than census, that I have found so far only use Belle or Betty, not their proper names. Will keep looking.
