She very well could be. The 1840 US census of Polk Co., MO, shows three females in Abner BRASSFIELD's household born between 1830-1840, yet the 1850 census of Newton Co., AR, shows only one (Eliza, b. c1834). There also is a definite connection between the BRASSFIELD and STANDRIDGE families: Abner's son, Aaron, md. Liza Jane STONDRIDGE (sic?) in Newton County in the late 1850s. They had five children and lived near Mount Judea, AR. Abner's son, John, also had five children, two of whom married into the STANDRIDGE family: -- John BRASSFIELD (1852-1893) md. Savina "Viney" STANDRIDGE, 1874 in Newton County -- Abner S. BRASSFIELD (1854-1909) md/1 Mary STANDRIDGE, 1876 in Newton County; md/2 Martha A. STANDRIDGE, 1881 in Pope Co., AR. These families later moved to what is now McIntosh Co., OK. I have not yet found the parents of any of these women. Do you have any other data on Rhoda STANDRIDGE?
