Brasseur Families of NW France?

Does anyone have a pretty good handle on the Brasseur Families of northwest France? the area close to the Alsace and the Benelux countries? I'd sure like to find an ancestor for Robert Brasseur, my Huguenot Immigrant to VA ca. 1635. Robert's oldest son, also born in France was Benois Brasseur, who surname was anglicized to Brashear when he was naturalized in Maryland. The original certificate is extant!

Does anyone have any information on the Maurice Brasier who moved to Langedoc from Provence, about 1500? He was probably a post-humous son of Jean Brasier de Jocas, of Pernes and Carpentras, whose will is dated 1477. That will does not mention Maurice, but Maurice and his descendants claimed they were part of the family. Maurice was living in 1520.

Cheers,
