Hi! I'm afraid I don't know your William, but I too am looking for Brasiels/Brazils from Alabama. Mine were in Crenshaw County. The family today spells the name Brasiel, but I've found them in the 1900 Saville census as Brazil. My ancestor I'm having trouble finding information on is John or James Thomas Brasiel, who went by Thomas; he was born in Alabama. He married Mittie McMurry abt 1887 (she was b Apr 22, 1870, in TX, although her family was originally from Alabama), and they had several children: Lucy Jean (listed on 1900 census as Elizabeth, for some reason?), b. Apr 4, 1888; Willie R., b abt 1889; Charles E., b Dec 1892; Elbert Howard, b Aug 27, 1893; Comer Lavode, b Mar 1, 1897; Rufus Thomas, b May 29, 1901; and Lucian Oliver, b Feb 28, 1907.
Thomas Brasiel died in Alabama. Some time after his death, his widow and most of her children moved to Upson County, Ga, which is where I live. Oldest daughter, Lucy, however, remained behind in Alabama; Lucy was my great-grandmother. All of Thomas and Mittie's children are gone now, but youngest son Lucian's widow, Erma, is still alive and living in Upson County. My grandmother, one of Lucy's younger children, is still alive. If you recognize any of these names, please let me know! I'm desperate to find Thomas's family!
