William Braswell, Brasseal, Brazil lived in Warren County Tn near McMinnville and attended the Rocky River Church with his wife Winnefred (Winney) Wilsher Braswell in the early 1800s. Thomas Wilsher who was Winneys father also lived near McMinnville Tn. Thomas had migrated from Burke Co NC. Another daughter of Thomas Wilsher (Wilcher) named Lucy was married to Joseph G.England who stated in a court record that he was born in Jefferson Co. KY. He and his wife also attended Rocky River Church. In 1821 Wm. Braswells daughter Matilda Taylor died and Joseph G.England was assigned to retrieve her belongings. According to the court record he delivered them to Wm. Brasseal for safe keeping until her children Landy England and daughter Polly Taylor became of age. William and his family moved to Blount Co. Alabama after 1821 where Landy later married Martha Barnes. He and Martha returned to Tn for a couple of years. Landy and his sister Polly had inherited land from her grandfather Thomas Wilsher. While in Tn Landy and Martha had two boys who appeared in the 1830 Warren Co Tn census as less than five years old. I believe the oldest born abt. 1826 was my GGGrandfather Marion England but I have no proof. Landy and Martha returned to Blount Co and remained near Wm and other Braswells until after their service in the civil war. Some moved back to Grundy Co Tn after the war while I believe Elias moved to Texas.
