My great grandmother kept very good records. I have records of the descendents of Daniel Branstetter and Winnie Slaughter. They lived in Ray County, Missouri. Daniel came here from Holland probably in 1802 with his parents Frederick and Magdalena. Their children were Elizabeth, Martha, Daniel, Jacob, Frederick, Catherine, Mary Ann, Rebecca, Nancy Emaline, Lafayette Patton, Sarah Jane, Henry Clay, and Adaline Francis. Nancy's (Yoakum) son and Adaline's (Hunt) daughter - first cousins - married. These were my great great grandparents Daniel Jackson Yoakum and George Anna Hunt. Daniel had moved from Ray County with his parents in 1863 and followed the Oregon Trail Nolin, Oregon. George Anna went to Excelsior Springs, Idaho from Ray County when she was a young child. Daniel and George Anna were married in Pendleton, OR and had my great grandmother Jennie Lee Yoakum Irwin Combs. Any cousins out there to share stories?
