I wish to share some obituary notices on Madeline Cecilia Branscombe, who died October 5, 1943, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada

Mrs. K. J. Branscombe Passes Suddenly
The sudden death of Mrs. Madeline Branscombe occurred in the General Hospital early Tuesday morning after she became ill at her residence, 181 Waterloo Street. She died soon after she was admitted to hospital. She was the wife of L-Cpl. Kenneth J. Branscombe and the daughter of Mrs. Agnes Briggs and the late John C. Briggs.
Mrs. Branscombe was born in the North End of the city where she resided most of her life. She attended St. Peter’s Girls School. After her marriage she moved to Waterloo Street and became a member of the parish of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Besides her husband and mother she leaves to mourn one young son, Kenneth J., Jr., at home; two brothers, Pte. William F. Briggs, overseas, and Joseph Leo Briggs, Monastery, N. S.; three sisters, Mrs. Wallace W. Kilburn, Mrs. Stanley W. Young and Mrs. Frank A. Henderson, all of Saint John; and one half-brother, Trp. Hiram W. Briggs, on service in Canada.
The funeral will be held from O’Neill’s Funeral Home, 669 Main Street, at a time to be announced later.

Funerals
Mrs. K. J. Branscombe
The funeral of Mrs. Madeline Branscombe, wife of L-Cpl. Kenneth J. Branscombe, was held this morning at 9:40 o’clock from O’Neill’s Funeral Home, 669 Main Street, to St. Peter’s Church where at 10 o’clock solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated by Rev. Francis Lawless, C.SS.R., Very Rev. John Keogh, C.SS.R. was deacon and Rev. Gordon McGuinness was sub-deacon. Many spiritual and floral tributes were received and relatives and friends acted as pallbearers. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery where prayers at the grave were read by Rev. H. G. Ramage.

Francis Lawless, C.SS.R., Very Rev. John Keogh, C.SS.R. was deacon and Rev. Gordon McGuinness sub-deacon. Many spiritual and floral tributes were received. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery where prayers at the grave were read by Rev. H. Ramage.
