The book says :
"The records of St. Mathews Lutheran Church at New Market, Va., show that she was a communicant of that church May 1, 1851. He was in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, Company B, 12th Virginia Cavalry. They were married December 1866. They live at Broadway, Virginia."
This book was written by John Casper Branner and published in 1913. He was the President of Stanford University. My Grandmother was his Cousin. That is how I happen to have a copy of the book.
By the way, there are 31 Neffs in the book. No Francis. I think this shows there may be a connection, however. As you know, it was not unusual for more than one member of a family to marry into another.
P. S. doesn't work
