Brann Family Genealogy Forum

Thank you for the reply and interest. I am casting the net pretty wide in that I don't think there is a recent split between the Maine Branns and the Branns from Virginia pre-revolution. However, since your name is Brann perhaps your father or a brother might be interested in taking a DNA test to see if there is a recent common ancestor.
I did get a DNA hit from a Brand researcher that places a split between her father and myself at 11 generations. her research places her Brands in France at or before the split. My anecdotal information points to Scotland for the Branns, possibly by way of Ireland (Scots-Irish). The France connection is interesting and could even be reconciled to Scotland though a possible Huguenot migration. The time periods work.
Anyway, at this point I would be just happy finishing up my Brann work up to the point of immigation to America which is hard enough with pre-revolutionary records.
