I have been researching Thomas for a number of years and have his and Catherine's (Caty's) probate and descendents that stayed in NC. I suspected that James of VA was a brother of Thomas and Vincent before I had concluded that Vincent was Thomas' brother. Notice that both Thomas and Vincent named a son after James, but I had also reasoned that James may have been the father of Thomas and Vincent. I had once found a captain James Brann in VA that would be about the correct age to be there father, but I forgot to write down the reference. It seems that it was a probate.
