If you're related to Benjamin Branham who married Elizabeth Green, you're related to me. I don't want to make a guess at how I think the line goes because that will just confuse us all, but I know that my great grandfather, Francis Cornelius Branham, born circa 1890, had a brother named George and another named Lucien Tom, who were pretty close. They weren't the only children of Melissa Smith, their mother, but they were born after the divorce with John Branham, who was said to be a harmful man. With much more to be said, Francis, my great grandfather, took on a surname that seems not to have been his own after my 2nd cousin looked into the records. Back then, divorces were shunned in a way, but in their case of violence, I believe that it was allowed.
