Hi Claudia,
I know just a little more on my John Branstetter. On the 1850 census of Tishoming Co., MS., he lists his birthplace as Va. His wife, listed as Nancy, lists hers as SC. Also, on the War of 1812 Pensioners, there is John Branstetter, SC (Soldiers Certificate) 8511, (wife)Catherine (Amys) m 1820 Jackson County, TENN. srv. Henry Yeakey's KY Mil, lived Barren & Metcalfe Ctys, KY.
I hope I'm on the right trail, and I'm looking for Catherine Branstetter, so assume she is named after her mother here.
Also is listed Frederick, SC, 11045.
This may be a brother of John. Just guessing at this point. Judy Mainord Malone
