I don't know if this is of any interest, but a frequent visitor to our house when I was a child was a lady called Mary Brandreth. My mother had worked with Mary, a spinster, at Ransome Hospital in Mansfield. My mother taught sick children and Mary was the occupational therapist. I still have a rather cunning crocheted fold-away shopping bag that she made. When we did Jeremiah Brandreth in history at school, Mary said that she was a descendant of his. Being a typical teenager, I wasn't the slightest bit interested and didn't ask any follow up questions. Mary lived in Southwell in Nottinghamshire, I think at 95 Norwell Gardens and as far as I know, never married. She may be the Mary listed in the UK death records as born 6 October 1909, deceased February 1985. I vaguely remember her saying that she wasn't a direct descendant of Jeremiah, but something like a great-niece. If this information links in with anything you have, I would be very interested to learn the line of descent. Although Mary wasn't a blood relative, she was my sister's godmother and we always called her "auntie".
