Dianne, I was interested to learn that you are descended from Isabella, the youngest child of Benjamin Daubeney Brandreth. We have a fairly extensive genealogy chart on him (probably the same one as you - but missing page two). We have very little on Isabella and her descendents. I would be pleased to have any details that you have.

You may be interested to know that the story as we know it is that William Daubeney was a Catholic and Ann Brandreth was a Quaker. The Daubeneys did not recognise the marriage between William and Ann as it had been performed with Quaker ceremony. After several years, and two sons later, William left his wife and family. The Daubeney sons were brought up by their grandfather, Dr Brandreth, and later took his name and coat of arms. Benjamin Daubeney Brandreth refused to accept the title Earl of Bridgewater, so it elapsed. His father had been disinherited for marrying a Quaker but Benjamin, being the elder son, was the rightful heir.
