Leading Light of the Halifax line, Larry Brandon has sent me this confirmation that this William Brandon was a son of Francis, not a son of F's nephew John M. Brandon:
"I can answer your question on William Brandon who married Mary Langley. He was the son of Francis Brandon. He sells property in Caswell County, NC to his brother Francis Brandon II. In the deed he mentions William Brandon of Jackson County Georgia. I will have to search my records for my copy of the deed. William Brandon and Mary Langley are both buried in the Brandon Cemetery near Lawrenceville, Ga in Gwinnett County, Ga which was once part of Jackson County, Ga. Attached are pictures of their gravestones which show William Brandon born 1778 and died 24 Feb 1841. His wife Mary Langley Brandon born 1780 died 23 October 1853."
