Posting this correction in a separate thread as well as a followup here.
I totally forgot something when I sweepingly moved William Brandon who married Mary Langley out of the family of John M. Brandon.
With many apologies to Arlie Brandon Betts, I note that Bill Brandon has sent me a copy of the prayer book of John M. Brandon. It's been in his family all these generations and is now in the possession of Bill's brother. John M.'s children are listed and there, at # 2, is "William Brandon born 10th Jan'y 1775."
So Arlie is correct, that William may have died early as he is not in John M.'s will.
The mistake, I now see, is moving that William's birth date over to his father's cousin. I still believe that a full grown William Brandon with an unknown birth date married Mary Langley and that that man was the son of Francis, Sr.
