Hello Lainy and Tony: I read both of your posts on the Brand Genforum. I have been working on the Brand Genealogy for well over fifty years; and have learned that my ancestor Thomas Brand, landed in Salem, Mass., U.S.A. aboard the "Lyon Whelp", in 1629; ;coming from England. Have not been able to find anything back further in England. Have visited there several times; and have found some Brand families, but cannot connect with them. If you have known of a Thomas Brand who came to America in 1629 or thereabouts, please contact me...............who knows ?; this might be my English connection !! I have nearly four thousand people in my files; and keep finding more "branches" here in the U.S. My wife and I have visited England many times; have also been to Scotland, Wales and Ireland............just love all of those places !! My wife is a relative of my Mother; and her family came from Scotland, I think in the 1700's; My wife and I are 3rd cousins, once removed! Her name was Beard, and long ago a Beard had married a Rutherford....this family goes back to Robert Bruce ! We find that most interesting. No wonder,we like the British Isles ...since "we" came from there so long ago ! Thanks, Rod Brand,
