from BRAND FAMILY GENEALOGICAL NOTES, BY GEORGE B. BRAND, NEW YORK CITY, 1938; obtained from Hartford, Connecticut State Library, 1939; there is listed one John Francis Brand, born Dec.1,1844; died 1923. The author, George B. Brand was born 1/16/1870. Could there be a connection? Might be your Uncle John! This booklet has lots of Brand info from there back into the 1600's, when Thomas Brand arrived Salem, aboard the "Lyons Whelp". Good luck! Rod
