To Roger Banfield: I read your message, and would suggest there may be a connection with your Brand family, and those who are now connected with Glynde Place, in Sussex. These Brand people were originally from Hertfordshire. Those Brands had been at an estate near Hitchin, called "the Hoo". It was taken down in the 1930's, I believe it was. They had been in that area for over 200 years, and may be connected with your family. I have visited Glynde Place, in Sussex, and have tried to make connection with my family in the United States, but they do not know of any of theirs who went to the U.S. The present resident at Glynde Place, Anthony Hampden, had written a book, "A Glimpse of Glynde"; it has Brand connection information. I would like to hear from you, even though you may not be related to those Brand families; we might find some connection with yours and mine, here in the U.S. My 7th great-grandfather came from England in 1629; I have not been able to find any of the family still in England. I have gathered much info of the American Brands, but can get no further back to England, as of now. I shall be grateful to hear from you. Thank you. Rod Brand, a 10th generation American Brand Notify Administrator about this message?
