Hello Kenneth: Read your post of Feb. 12th. Will be anxious to see more, as I do have some information of the Brand families of Clinton County, New York.....which includes Peru, Senaca Falls, etc area.
I visited that area in April, 2000; and met some of the Brand people...........BUT, as yet have not been able to connect with their families.
I met a Mr. Donald Cromie, near Brand Hollow Road, Peru, NY and visited with he and wife. There were two Brand families in that area, owning adjoining farms. Mr. Cromie married one of the "other" Brands; and his grandmother had been a Brand of the other farm!! Strange, they seem to think those two families were not related. I have not been convinced; nor but what they are related to my Brand families of Franklin County, New York.
Mr. Cromie's Brand family had relatives near Burlington, Vermont..............so did I. I searched records there, and cannot connect any of these three Brand groups.
My Brand family came to Vermont about 1790 from Rhode Island; and some of them then moved to Franklin County, New York. Let's "talk" about all of this, and surely I can help you in some...........as you must be related to those in the Peru, Clinton County area. You may respond via e-mail <ibrand@zoomnet.net> You might provide your mailing address, and I will print-out what I have on those Brands in the Peru area. Will await your response.
