Robert Mathis Cleveland Brand was born March 3, 1843 in Gwenett Co., GA. He joined the Confederate Army Co B, 34th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment at the age of 19 and saw many battles. After the war on Oct. 16, 1870 he married Melissa Jane Moore, daughter of John Moore and Mary J Spearman, in Cherokee Co., GA. They had the following children.

Mary Ann "Mollie" Brand b 1876 GA d Sept 19, 1927 TX
Rebecca Jane Brand b 1878 GA d Unknown TX
Nancy LaNora "Nora" Brand b 1880 GA d unknown TX
Robert Andrew Brand b Dec 20, 1882 GA d Feb 12, 1959 TX
Nathan Jesse Brand b Dec 20, 1882 GA d Aug 29, 1961
Melissa Harriett "Hattie" Brand b Mar. 1886 d unknown TX
The family left Georgia in 1896, made a stop in Alabama for an unknown period of time and then moved on to TX. RMC died Feb 25, 1933. Two months later Melissa died on April 28, 1933. They are buried side by side at the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery, Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas and was buried in a section titled Confederate Park.
I have more information on this family and am seeking to share info with other cousins. I don't believe my book will be complete without the missing links. One of them could be you. Please write, any information you may be willing to share would be greatly appreciated.
