I'm a little confused by some of the dates in the middle of your post where you said:
Richard Haull Brand m Mary Jane Lighthill 24 Jan 1823 and then said Mary was born 10 May 1823. I think you posted the wrong date for their marriage.
Is the 24 Jan 1823 date really the date of birth for Richard?
Do you have their date of marriage?

I find this family in Butler Twp.,Richland Co., OH in 1850 as
Richard Brand, age 27
Mary Brand, age 27
George Brand, age 1
