My son just now found your messge on the Genforum. posted 1-28-99
I am MINNA OLIVIA BRAND STAGGS. I am named after HENRY CASPER BRAND'S wife WILHELMINA (MINNA OLIVIA) , they are my great granparents.
HENRY CASPER , b. 1842 Germany, and was FRED W., brother , parents PETER H. AND MARIA BRAND.
I have a copy of the passenger list shows they were in port Jan. 1., 1848 on the ship George Washington, sailed from Bremen to New Orleans, so left Germany in late 1847.
It showsFRED W. as 13, b @ 1834, Germany.
Later they named another son FREDRICK W., b., 1851, Mo.
Why is he the only son I could never find?
What do you have on him? All I have is his name and age on the passenger list.
Will be glad to trade info., some of mine you may already have.
I live in Excelsior Springs, MO., Clay.Co, about an hour and a half away from Higgginsville, Lafayette Co., MO.
