Bill--I see you're still hard at work on this. That is great! We have not corresponded in some time and now that I am retired I have started looking over some of my Brand/Brant family papers. I also recently moved from northern Michigan back to the Kalamazoo area.

Have you ever discovered the connection with Simeon Brand/Brant (b.1758--d.1842) to Simeon Brant (b.1776--d.1860 in Berrien Co. MI)???? I know that you questioned whether Simeon I could have signed land documents in 1788 with wife Peobe in Rhode Island and also be married to Prudence (Phelps) in 1786 in Ballston Spa, NY. That is still a puzzle to me too, but the Prudence (Brand) Capwell connection seems to link Simeon I from NY back to RI and the Revolutionary War.

Anyway, just wondering what you've discovered in these past 10 years. Thanks.

Mike Brandt
Portage, MI
