I have been able to trace one branch of my family to a Benjamin Brand, c1530-1612 in England. His son John Brand (1570-1650) also lived and died in England, but his son "Gentleman Benjamin Brand" who was born in 1610 in Suffolk County, England, died in 1690 in Rhode Island.

If anybody else has traced back to this family, I'd be interested in hearing what you know about them and their predecessors.
