Benjamin H. Branch, Jr's book on Harvel. C. Richardson to Christopher Branch
In 1963 our Branch family researcher, Benjamin H. Branch, Jr. wrote a book.
The story goes that Benjamin was a student at Harvard working on a doctorate. His advisor, also the Dean of History--Dr. Wyrtt-- embraced several students to write their thesis on their family heritage.
This little group of students was in the 1930's, and became quite well-known. This was before the aide of computers. Dr. Wyrtt was a Magana Charta member.
Our Christopher Branch is the same. Benjamin wrote a 184 page book [C571.B817?] called "The Branch, Harris, Jarvis and Chinn Book: A family Outline".
This was researched for our family by Sam Maner, professional genealogist.Paid for by Wendy Corcoran, Shiloh, NC June 2010.This line had not been worked on for over 80 years, and is now on genforum and ancestry.com.
Benjamin H. Branch Jr., Branch Harris Jarvis and Chinnn Book: A Family Outline (n.p.: n.pub., 31 Dec 1963).
I am trying to locate this book. Can someone help me? I see the University of Tennessee has a copy.
It lists our family starting with Harvel C. Richardson up to Millington Richardson marrying Elizabeth Branch. Then the line follows the Branch line past Christopher Branch.
