I really don't know if your ancestors are related to mine. I believe Brancato is a very common name in Sicily. Also, a map of Sicily's provinces that I looked at indicates Godrano is in Palermo, and Castiglione is in Catania, which are are almost on opposite sides of the country. My initial response is that our families probably aren't related (within recent generations, at least), but it's hard to tell since I do not have the names of any Brancato's apart from my grandparents. My public library is now an authorized family history center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Sometime soon I hope to check their microfilm on my Sicilian ancestors and see if I discover more names. Perhaps then we could make a connection. You might want to check if a library near you also carries this info. You can search via www.familysearch.org
