Hello. Just to add another little spoke in the wheel... (Sorry), I am a Bramble, and there is a controversy going on on our forum right now concerning the Bramhall name. We have a Jonathon Bramhall that may have married someone named Miss Booze (according to one of the Gen. Sites), and he had several children, who were named with the last name BRAMBLE. But, Jonathon's son named Jonathon Bramhall kept the BRAMHALL last name. I believe I have seen information that states the first Jonathon Bramhall's father was Bramble. In my researches,I have come across the same town spelled three different ways as well as the name Bramble. If you have relations that are named BRAMEL, there is a good chance that your BRAMHALL and BRAMEL ancestors were also BRAMBLES. I am not saying that Bramble was the first name that the others originated from. But, I am saying that if the same town can be spelled three different ways concerning the birth of the same person... birth certificate shows up four times for same person different town spelling, then the names may have been bastardized as well. A simple spelling or grammar error from the clerk could totally baffle any gen researchers.PROOF: look up the name James Bramble (1855?) and check his birth place... he was born in Hallit's Corner DE, Hallit's Corner, MD, Hallet's Corner DE and Hallet's Corner MD. The town is now called Hollet's Corner, DE.(It is right on the border of the two states, but confuses research due to state and county records). Ugh!PS Jonathon Bramhall seems to have been from Dorchester MD, and not actually of 'my' Bramble ancestry unless we are related further back then the records I currently have.
