Jefferson Davis Brame (post civil war)
Posted by: Brett Rogers Date: June 11, 1999 at 15:22:12

My mother was a Brame, and while I know that her family moved to Arkansas from Mississippi around the turn of the century and had previously been in Alabama (I believe), I know very few details. My grandfather, who knew quite a lot about his family history, died in 1967 and had not written much of that knowledge down when he died, unfortunately. My great-grandfather, who I believe was born in Alabama shortly after the Civil War, was named (big surprise) Jefferson Davis Brame. He married Lissie Stringer in Stringer, Mississippi, shortly before the turn of the century and moved on to Arkansas. Any details or info that anyone might have would be much appreciated, including information about much earlier family history. Cousins, it's good to have found y'all.
