So good to hear from you! And so glad you enjoyed the book. It was a joy putting it together. If it has touched people in any way, that is what it is all about. Thank you.

As you know, the 1880 Census lists Mary Adaline Huffman (now married) as Adaline Bramblett, and says she was born about 1846 in SC, but I do not see her on the 1850 or 1860. Could she have gone by her first name, Mary, in 1850? Because there was a Mary Huffman her age in Orangeburg Co., SC, in 1850. But I doubt it is her, due to following factors.

I did find Barbara, however, on the 1860:

1860 CENSUS, MURRAY CO., GA:

Sarah Huffman, 52, b 1808 in SC
Barbary Huffman, 15, b 1845 in SC
Nancy Huffman, 13, b 1847 in SC
Asley C Huffman, 11, b 1849 in TN

Huffman, a German name, is not unusual to find in SC since so many Germans immigrated there, especially in the 1700's.

The 1870 Census lists her as Adeline (with an E) Bramblett, and says she was born about 1848 in SC.

OK, I think I found them in 1850, except there is no Mary Adaline or Mary Adeline, only the Barbara you mentioned. Could the Nancy A. be Nancy Adaline? You know how they used to alter their names a lot in the 1800's, and sometimes a girl had several names. Anyway, here is the 1850:

1850 CENSUS, BRADLEY CO., TN:

Andrew Huffman, 61, b SC
Sarah, 41, b SC
Erastus, 21, b SC
Robert, 20, b SC
Darcus, 18, b SC
Rebecca, 16, b SC
Barbara, 7, b SC
Nancy A., 5, b SC
Asba C., 1, b SC (The 1860 calls her Asley, and says b TN)

Maybe this helps a bit. I will look some more.
