Cemetery in Easthampton MA
Hello all,
Have been out in my garden more than on-line this month, & suspect this is true of others too.Recently visited the Main St cemetery in Easthampton MA, where Jim Carroll has found a number of Braman gravestones--to my disappointment, however, those of old Uzziel Braman and his wife Asenath eluded us!Jim, do you recall in what sector you discovered those oldest stones?
As referenced in an earlier posting--Uzziel, Asenath, and three children were early members of the Holyoke Baptist Church, which puzzled Jim because there is a mountain between Easthampton & Holyoke. However, Uzziel's son Amasa had property in Easthampton "at the foot of the mountain." In fact, we found ourselves leaving Easthampton and entering Holyoke on Rt 141, via a (steep) road which skirted the side of a pretty impressive little mountain.Don't know of course if that road existed ca 1819, but I could imagine it.
