John Wesley's father, Josiah, was a Methodist minister in the Genesee conference in Michigan. Josiah and Mary Goss met in the county of Erie, Pa. Before Josiah died he bought property in Cooper, Mi. which is above Kalamazoo. By the way if you are related to Mary Goss Brakeman you are a descendant of William White who came on the Mayflower. I have a hunch since there are John Wesleys, Charles Wesleys that the reason for the middle name, Wesley, is that they were for the most part Methodist Episcopleans and John Wesley was the founder of the Methodist Church.
