The following is a verbatim transcript of the will of Isaac Brackfield of Augusta County, Virginia, dated 10 May 1767 and probated on 15 November 1768.The will is found in Augusta County Will Book No. 4 , pp. 148 - 150:
In the name of God Amen the tenth day of May in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty Seven I Isaac Bracpeil of Virginia in the County of Augusta Farmer being very sick and weak in body but of Perfect mind and Memory thanks be given unto God therefor Calling unto mind the Mortallity of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and Ordain this my last will & Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give recommend my soul into the hands of him that give it and for my Body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian Like manner at the discretion of my Executor nothing Doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of god and as touching such Worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless one with in this Life I give devise & despose of the same in the following Manner and form Imprimis it is my will and I do order that in the first place all my Just debts funeral Charges be paid & satisfied Item I give and bequeath unto Catherine my dearly beloved wife the third part of all my moveable estate also the third part of my home place together with the house [she] now lives in during the time she shall remain my Widow and after her the land to be my youngest sons to be his en his wives and Assigns for ever Item I give to my ouldest daughter Elizabeth now Married and Living in Pensylvania and her ouldest daughter Catharine each of them one Cow and Calf as for the rest of my Moveables I give and dispose of them in the manner & form following that is to say one third part to be equally divided between my three sons Stophel Jacob and Isaac the other two thirds to be equally divided between my two youngest Daughters Catharine & Barbary Item I give unto my well beloved Stophel Brackpeil the remaining two thirds of my home place to him his wives and Assigns for ever Item I give to my beloved son Jacob Brackpeil my land Contained in a Survey on the Slate lick Branch to him & his Assigns for ever I Likewise Constitute mark and Ordain my only and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament Jacob Miller and Catharine Brackpeil my [wife] and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testament wills Legacies & Executors by me in any ways before this time named Willed & bequeathed ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereofI have hereunto set my hand and seal the day & Year above Written Signed Sealed Published Pronounced & declared by the said Isaac Brackpeil as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers

At a Court held for Augusta County November the 15th 1768 This Last Will and Testament of Isaac Brackfeild was proved by the Oaths of Andrew Bird & Jacob Trumbo two of the Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded and on the motion of Jacob Miller & Catharine Brackfeild the Executors therein named who made Oath According to law Certificate is Granted them for Obtaining a Probat thereof in due form they having with ~ Securities entered into and Acknowledged their bond According to Law Test.
Know all men by these presents that we Catharine Brackfeild Jacob Miller Abraham Bird & Jacob Trumbo are held and firmly bound unto James Lockhart Israel Christian John Dickinson & George Moffett Justices in the Commission of the Peace for Augusta County for & in Behalf of the Justices of the said County in the sum of Two Thousand Pounds to be paid to the said Justices and their Successors which payment well & truly to be made we bind our selves and each of us owe and each of our wives Executors and Administrators Jointly & Severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 15th day of November 1768.

1. November 17, 1760. "Isaac Brackfeild" added to list of tithables. Augusta County Order Book No. 6, p. 432; Lyman Chalkley, Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia (1912), Vol. 1, p. 87. Also lists names other settlers, apparently close neighbors, who were added to list of tithables at same time: John Bags, Thomas Bags, Jacob Trumbeau, Jacob Bear, Conrad Lamb, John Richards, Jacob Richards, Thomas West, Daniel Cain, Martin Whitsell, Uriah Humble, Martin Humble, Jacob Caplinger.
2. August 22, 1768. "Isaac Blackfild" paid 3 shillings by estate of Jacob Goodpasture. Augusta County Will Book No. 4, p. 144; Chalkley, Vol. 3, p. 105. Also named in settlement of estate: George Boman, Jacob Gorn, John Bealey, Counrod Sam, Henry Shumaker, John Gratton, John Rounen or Roynen, Daniel Pearce or Peirce.
3. November 15, 1768. Will of "Isaac Brackfeild" probated. (Will dated May 10, 1767). Augusta County Will Book No. 4, pp. 148 – 150; Chalkley, Vol. 3, p. 105. Name also spelled Bracpeil, Brackpeil. Mentions wife Catharine; youngest son; oldest daughter Elizabeth married and living in Pennsylvania; Elizabeth’s oldest daughter Catharine; sons Stophel, Jacob and Isaac; daughters Catharine and Barbary. Stophel inherited 2/3 of home place; Jacob inherited "tract on Slate Lick Branch." Apparently Stophel was oldest son, Jacob second-oldest, and Isaac youngest. Executors: Jacob Miller and Catharine Brackpeil (also spelled Brackfeild). Witnessed by Abraham Bird, Quilin Mas, Jacob Trumbo.
4. April 10, 1769. Inventory and appraisal of estate of "Isaac Brackfeild deceased." Augusta County Will Book No. 4, pp. 201 – 211; Chalkley, Vol. 3, p. 108. Estate appraised by Adam Reider, John Thomas and Rudie Mauk.
5. April 11, 1769. Auction of moveable effects of "Isaac Brackfeild deceased." Augusta County Will Book No. 4, pp. 334 – 339; Chalkley, Vol. 3, p. 115. Participants included Christopher Brackfield and Jacob Brackfield. Jacob Miller, executor.

Elizabeth Adeline Craig Brakefield died between 1860-1864 in Monroe Co., AR.
Harry Brakefield then married Harriet Russell Pledger in Monroe Co., AR on 5/5/1864.
From this union were born Harriet Eva Brakefield and her twin sister Francis Evelyn Brakefield 10/12/1872 in Monroe Co., AR.
The Probate Record Book in Monroe Co., AR 1870-1874 mentions Wm. H. Brakefield and his widow H. Frances Owen (she had remarried after he died and before final settlement had been reached). Saw her in a picture that Velma Rodgers Wilson had 9/18/2003. She was called Granny Franny Owen.
Harriet Eva Brakefield md. J. S. Pipkin 8/9/1885 Monroe Co., AR
Their son: William Marion Pipkin b: 10/6/1889 Monroe Co., AR
J. S. Pipkin apparently died before 8/2/1894 due Eva Francis marrying Charles Kelly on that date.
1900 Census - Washington Twsp., Grant Co., AR - Chas. E. Kelley, 32, b. AR, Eva F. Kelley 24, b. AR, Marion Pipkin 9, b. AR, Narvell Kelley 4, b. AR, Garland Kelley 1, b. AR.
Eva stated on the 1900 census that she was the mother of 3 with 3 living. Eva and Charles were living in the next household to her mother and step-father in 1900.
