Hi Jane,

Yes Judge is a significant part of the Brakefields of Kent. John Judge Brakefield is named after his mother's surname. John Judge Brakefield is the son of John Brakefield (1817-1886) and Ann Judge (1821-?).

John Judge was born in Headcorn, Kent England. If you check the 1881 census for Britain, you'll see that he was living at the Biddenden Road Tile Barn Farm at that particular point in time.
