Brakefield Family Genealogy Forum

This is amazing. We looked up my wife's ancesters (Gerber) and found that they also comne from Langnau-Emmenta. They were Mennonites (originals) who followed Zwingli in 1525. But they did not come to America until 1822. They were probably farmers because that is what they did here. They settled in Holmes County, Ohio which is like the area in Switzerland where they were lived, rolling hills, valleys, and good farm land. Holmes County today has the largest Amish community in America. They have a Swiss Festival in Sugarcreek, Ohio every year. This is also the second largest Swiss cheese production area in America. The other part of my wife's family manufactuered pipe organs (Tschantz Organ Company) The reunion (Tschantz)is next weekend in Kidron at the Sonnenberg Mennonite Church. I will print your message and take it to the reunion to see if more could be discovered at the Kidron Historical Society. There was Brachbiel or Brakefield in Wayne Co. at one time.
If I understand you correctly, our common ancestor was Issac Brachbuhl? Check your scanners connectors and then go to Paint or other art or photo progam and click on import from scanner and camera. That should work but be sure your equipment is either the type that links to the printer and the computer in kind of a chain or connects directly to the computer. It makes a difference in how to properly connect them up.
