John Sam Brakefield (b) 4 Oct 1850 (d) 10 Aug 1918 (m) 26 Sept at the home of J.M. Turner in Willow Springs, Mo. He married Mary Caroline Turner (b) 6 Dec 1852 (d) 20 Feb 1922 and both are buried in Old Union Cemetery in Winston Co. AL..

Thier children were : Sarah Ann (b) 4 Apr 1876 (d) 22 Oct 1963 in Al. James W. (b) 21 Apr 1878 (d) 4 Jul 1899 William (no info) Walter (no info) John Oscar (b) 12 Apr 1884 (d) 7 Apr 1950 Marion Alvin (no info) David Elmer (b) 18 Sep 1890 (d) 27 Jul 1964.

Of these children I do know that Sarah Ann was born in Willow Springs, MO. Family story has it that the Brakefield left northern Al and went to Missouri and stay a few years and returned to Alabama.
