I am an Edgecombe County Brake. There was a large Brake presence in Edgecombe County in the 1980s and since. You might want to check the Brake Family Cemetery web site. My grandmother, Effie Brake, daddy, Richard Ralph Brake, and cousins, Beulah Brake and William Brake, did a really nice job of cataloging the tombstones in the family cemetery. http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/edgecombe/cemeteries/brake01.txt
