A friend of mine (Danny Rayborn) was adopted in June 1950 from NF. On the adoption record it said that the person Danny Rayborn was the same as the one born as Aubrey Linfield Brake in Corner Brooks on march 3, 1949. His acoptive mother had written a note listing Aubrey with his birth time (11:15 AM) and his weight (about 8 pounds) and then there was also written George Brake with 6:00 PM and a weight of about 8 pounds. Now that his adoptive parents have died, I have encouraged Danny to try to find his relatives before too much time passes.
His mother told him that his birth mother was supposedly 16 years old and a Catholic, so it was thought best for her to give him up.
We would like to find any information on his birth mother, father and any possible brothers/sisters. And we would appreciate any information you 'experts' can help us with.
He will be filling out a request for his birth certificate from the hospital. The adoption agency is sending an application for information to him but they were not very encouraging. They said if there was any information that his family had provided they could sent that but if not they would have to research into it and it might be a year or two before they could even start the search. So, we are trying to proceed on our own.
