Linda Brake Meyers and Nancy Jackson in their book "Colonel Edward Jackson, 1759 - 1828, Revolutionary Soldier" extracted the following from Joiner, Peggy Shoma, "Abstracts of Virginia's Northern Neck Warrants and Surveys, Frederick County, 1747 - 1780" pg 39: "

Martin Crider/Grider, 18 Jan 1749/50 - 28 Feb 1749-50: 346 a. where he lives on a br. of Ceader Crk; adj. Fry's pat. CC Jacob Brake & Jacob Durkley. Surv. John Baylis."

"CC" is "chain carrier" and "Surv." is :"surveyor." The Jacob Brake mentioned here would undoubtedly be Johann Jacob Brake's son, Catherine's brother. Jacob later moved to what is now Hardy County, WV. I don't know what other brothers/sisters did.
